Term5 years The research quality and laboratory teaching performance will be reviewed in the 5th year. The successful applicant will be promoted as a tenure assistant professor (non-PI position); otherwise employed as a project assistant professor with a term of 1 year.
QualificationsHolder of a doctorate (Ph.D.) degree (as of August 2019). A good command of English and/or Japanese is required. Experience in biofunctional chemistry including organic synthesis and handing of metalloenzymes is required.
MissionThe applicant will join the Laboratory of Bioinorganic Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry (PI: Prof. Osami Shoji; http://bioinorg.chem.nagoya-u.ac.jp/) and cooperate with other members on ongoing projects related to biofunctional chemistry within the laboratory. Especially, research projects are focusing on development of biocatalytic system for extremely difficult oxidation reactions utilizing metalloenzymes including designing and synthesis of enzyme activators.
