I have the impression that just as mathematics underpins physics, which in turn underpins chemistry, which in turn underpins biology, chemistry cannot exist without mathematics and physics. There is an impression in this chemistry lab that you can learn about the microscopic world.
I am researching COFs (covalent organic frameworks) and using them to create materials such as electrical materials and catalysts. While there are still many challenges in my research, I get really excited when I come up with ideas for research that I want to try out in my head.
I am still undecided, but since I love chemistry, I want to leverage what I have learned in the Department of Chemistry to pursue a job where I can make an impact on the world from a chemical perspective.
I chose the Faculty of Science at Nagoya University for two main reasons. Firstly, I have a strong interest in science subjects and aspire to become a mathematics teacher in the future. Secondly, the opportunity to choose a specialized field of study in the second year at Nagoya University’s Faculty of Science was appealing, as it allowed me to study a wide range of science disciplines in the first year. As for why I chose the Department of Chemistry in my second year, I was most drawn to chemistry as I studied various subjects in my first year. The research topics seemed intriguing, and I felt a strong desire to try my hand at them.
