Associate Professor Akiko Yagi (Organic Chemistry Laboratory) has been awarded the Akasaki Prize for the 2022 academic year at Nagoya University.

The title of the award-winning research is “Synthesis and Application of Insoluble Aromatic Polymers.”

The Akasaki Prize is a highly prestigious award that recognizes individuals who have received outstanding evaluations from a social contribution perspective, with only a maximum of two recipients selected per year. The award is intended to highlight remarkable achievements that demonstrate a high level of academic and scientific technological standards, as well as contribute to the welfare and cultural development of humanity and the world’s industries, in line with the award’s principles of “social contribution.”

In recent years, there has been an increasing number of young people aspiring to contribute to society through various means, highlighting the essential nature of the social perspective.
